Our skin contains main small pores that get filled with pollutants, our own skin’s oil, dead skin cells, dirt etc. causing skin issues like pimples and acne to form. Pimples are mostly formed on facial skin pores because our face is always in contact with the elements without the shield of any cloth. Another main reason that pimples get formed on the face is because the facial skin is very easily susceptible to the outside elements. Pimples are also caused due to excessive oil production by skin, causing the skin pores to be clogged leading to the outbreak of acne and pimples. The repeated formation of one or more pimples is known as an acne outbreak and this spoils your smooth and soft skin.
There are many methods to treat acne that are quite effective but most of the people settle by buying store products like facial cleansers, face washes, creams etc. for treating acne but we ignore the more effective and long lasting method – the homemade method. Instead of using store bought products I advise you to use the homemade method because it is natural and does not cause any damage to your beautiful skin. Homemade methods mainly make use of ingredients that are present in your home thereby saving your expenses of buying products at the store. Many feel that making such products at home is a hassle but it is not such a big issue if you consider the long term benefit these homemade remedies will do to your skin and overall beauty.
These homemade remedies treat your pimple and acne issue all the while as well as enhance and preserve your natural beauty and looks. Especially oils are never thought to reduce pimples and acne as excessive production of oil by the skin is one of the reasons for acne development, but there are few oils that will treat this acne and pimple issue quickly.
So here I am going to introduce you to a few simple homemade remedies and treatments with oils that will treat your acne and pimple issue in no time –
Tea tree oil remedy
Tea tree oil is obtained from the distillation of the Tea tree’s leaves which is mostly found in Australia. This oil is an antimicrobial agent that contains a number of antioxidants. Tea tree oil has many skin benefits like making the skin healthy, reducing acne, has antifungal and antiviral properties thereby it can treat insect bites, ringworms, warts, wounds etc., it treats dry skin, controls body odour etc. Nowadays tea tree oil is easily available in many stores and can also be bought online.
For using tea tree oil to fight acne just take a cotton swab, dip it in the oil and apply it directly on to the acne, pimples or other skin issues rather than applying it all over the face. Within 4 day you pimples and acne will completely disappear.
Caution: Tea tree oil is acidic in nature thereby may cause burning sensation therefore before applying on your face firstly apply it on your arm and if it doesn’t burn then apply it on your face.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender is one of my favourite flowers because of its aromatic smell and beautiful colour. Lavender gives the skin aromatherapy with its amazing smell therefore it is included in many perfumes, soaps etc. Lavender essential oil has a beautiful smell but also has many benefits for the skin like treating acne, repelling bugs, inducing sleep, relieving pain, increases blood circulation, gives relief from headache etc. Lavender essential oil contains antibacterial properties that kills the bacteria on your skin and reduces the production of sebum (oil secretion by sebaceous glands under the skin) thereby reducing acne, pimples and may other skin issues quite quickly.
This oil is quite easy to use and rarely has any side effects. A few drops of this oil in your regular cream will treat your acne issue as well as gives a beautiful aroma to your skin without even using a perfume. I personally prefer to put a few drops of lavender oil in the water of an electric facial steamer and steam my face; this will clean the clogged pores, kill the bacteria on the skin and gives you an amazing smellto your skin.
Caution: Not recommended for people allergic to flowers as the smell of this oil is quite strong.
Rose Essential Oil
Rose is a flower that has many benefits and its water and oil are also quite beneficial. Rose essential oil has properties like antiseptic, antibacterial, antiviral, antidepressant, antiphlogistic, astringent and many more. When this oil is used on the skin it kills the bacteria that causes acne, tones the skin, gives a bright slow to your skin and much more. The only issue I find is that it is a bit difficult to acquire this oil in a local store but if you do get one it is a must use product. Another amazing thing about this oil is its powerful rose smell that last almost the whole day.
This oil can be used similar to the lavender essential oil by just adding in your regular cream. What I like to do is wet the cotton ball with a few drops of rose essential oil and rub it all over your face especially in acne prone areas like under chin, side nostril etc. Otherwise you can add this oil to your bathwater to garner the benefit of the oil for your whole body.

Frankincense Essential Oil
Frankincense Essential Oil is extracted from the Boswellia genus tree’s dried sap and this tree is mostly found in countries like Oman, Somalia, Ethopis, Yemen etc. This oil is a natural antiseptic, astringent, disinfectant, emmenagogue, sedative, tonic etc. Frankincense Essential Oil is very beneficial for skin as it not only reduces acne but also treats wrinkles, tightens the skin, lighten skin tone etc. the only issue is that it is quite hard to get this oil.
Frankincense Essential Oil is quite easy to use, you just need to put a few drops of the oil on a cotton ball and wipe it all over your face especially in oily zones of your face otherwise you can simply add this oil to your bathwater. There are rarely any side effects of this oil but I highly recommend you to test it on your hand before using on the extra sensitive skin of your face and when you’re using always follow the rule that less is more.
Lemon Essential Oil
Lemon as we know is a very beneficial fruit but the oil that is derived from the tough outer skin of the fruit known as Lemon Essential Oil is much more beneficial. Lemon Essential Oil is a natural astringent, antiseptic, disinfectant, has antifungal properties, anti-infection properties and many more making this oil a boon for the skin. This oil reduces pimples and many other skin issues as well as rejuvenates the skin, reduces oiliness, gives the skin a beautiful lustre etc.
Lemon Essential Oil can be used to clean the whole face with the help of a cotton ball but I personally prefer to use a spray. For making this spray you will need
- 20 drops of lemon essential oil
- 10 drops of tea tree oil
- 8-oz spray bottle
- Pure water as needed
Fill the 8-oz spray bottle with pure water then add both of the oils. Now you can use this spray after every facial scrub or cleansing. This will reduce skin issues, brighten your skin and also will make your skin very soft.
Sweet Basil Essential Oil
There are many types of basil oil but this is the mildest and most easily available for me. Sweet Basil Essential oil contains Vitamin A, potassium, iron, magnesium etc. that treats many skin issues as well as helps with other health issues like indigestion, constipation, respiratory problems etc. I personally feel that the smell is quite mild when compared to other essential oils therefore it is best for people with sensitive noses.
This oil can be applied with the help of a cotton ball but I like to massage it with my hands as it will ensure that the oil gets into the skin more thoroughly. If you find that you don’t like the smell of the oil then I would advise you to add a few drops of this oil in bathing water or in water for steaming as it will penetrate your skin’s layers easily.

These properties help treat many issues like acne, sagging skin, wrinkles, promotes cell health as well as treats other health issues like increasing urination, fights dementia, helps intestinal worms, treats anxiety etc. But acquire this oil maybe a bit difficult therefore I advise you to try online rather than in local stores.
